Neptune P2P Groupโs facilities security services can be employed against the more basic structures such as residential properties to the more complex such as ports or energy terminals. Regardless, the principles remain constant. Our facilities security service is delivered in four phases (Discovery, Design, Deliver and Disengage) and focuses on four components (the physical, technical, policy and procedures, and any subsequent staff training), providing the complete end-to-end service.
- Discovery. Working with the client and their stakeholders, we confirm the critical assets required to be protected and conduct a Security Risk Assessment SRA). This includes the assessment of any threats, hazards, vulnerabilities, and subsequent risk, providing a Risk Management Plan (RMP) that will mitigate the risk to the clientsโ critical assets. The facility SRA and RMP will consider official entry and exit points and any vulnerabilities to the facilityโs physical integrity as well.
- Design. Again, working with the client and their stakeholders, we take the endorsed recommendations from the RMP and develop a facility security plan that includes the physical security measures (personnel and structure), access control and surveillance required to mitigate any security vulnerabilities. Policies and procedures are established to ensure functionality and any subsequent training is designed. For procurement, we will make up to three recommendations per requirement, providing the client with options and free of any unconscious bias to choose the equipment that suits their needs.
- Deliver.ย Once the design has been agreed by the client, the physical and technical requirements will be procured (by the client is preferred to avoid any decision latency) and installed. Our risk management staff will draft the Policy and Procedures and deliver any necessary training to staff, coupled with relevant drills and exercises.
- Disengage. Once the client is content that the facilities security service is fully integrated into their company cadence, our risk management staff will disengage.
Port Facility Security Assessments and Plans. Neptune P2P Group are certified by the UK Ministry, Department for Transport to conduct Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) training. PFSO training focuses on the duties of a PFSO, how to conduct a Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA) and compile a Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) in accordance with the internationally recognised ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) Code. Conducting a PFSA/P is a most complex example of facilities security services.
External validation - testing your facilities security. Many companies will have conducted facility security assessments and developed and implemented a credible plan as a result. However, many of these plans will be dated (and may not consider current threats, hazards and vulnerabilities or new critical assets) or will not have been tested. Neptune P2P Group provides an external validation service. From a security perspective, this could include Neptune P2P Group staff being used to test/penetrate a facility's security measures. Neptune P2P Group can run a series of validation exercises to test the plans and security infrastructure validity. Itโs better to learn lessons in an exercise environment rather than for real when lessons may cost a company unnecessary lost revenue.
