Restoring the dignity of our seafarers and helping them back to their normal life is our purpose and priority.
The MPHRP Philippines Team, in coordination with the local manning agency in Manila, welcomes the Filipino crew survivors of MT Kerala on their arrival from Ghana last February 7, 2014 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 11:30pm. Dynacom’s Liberian-flagged product tanker was hijacked off Luanda, Angola on January 18, 2014.
The seafarers were also welcomed by their families and later debriefed by professional counsellors from UGAT Foundation, assisted by Renato Pablo, Jr. and Hil Tamayo of MPHRP in cooperation with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). MPHRP is committed to assist these seafarers and their families until they fully recover from the traumatic incident caused by the piracy attack and being taken hostage.
