Pirates attacked the fishing trawler Maju Jaya in Malacca Strait in Tamiang water in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The vessel was attached by a fishing boat with armed pirates, who boarded the trawler from portside and hijacked the crew for a while.
The pirates were armed with guns and other weapons, locked the crew on the bridge and stole jewelry, mobile phones, technologies and etc. After that they abandoned the ship into a fast boat and headed to unknown direction.
