Policy and guidelines. In coordination with the client and its stakeholders, Neptune P2P Group can draft company travel risk management policy. This will establish the process that personnel must follow, enabling the company to provide its obligated duty of care. It will establish a framework to ensure that risk (and subsequent risk management) is considered for every journey and depending on the risk, appropriate steps taken to mitigate against it to make any business travel risk, as low as reasonably possible. In addition, regional security management guidance such as pre-travel preparation, departure and arrival requirements, and hotel, meeting and in-country journey considerations can also be provided.
Location and route security risk assessments. Neptune P2P Groups’ team of security intelligence analysts can provide, on request, bespoke location, route, and area security risk assessments to aid your travel risk management requirements. The assessment will cover political (how state and non-state actors may affect travel and business), operational (medical requirements, standard of hospitals and state infrastructure, culture and cultural challenges, and weather), security (including crime and political instability, and travel (travel-related risks such as the standard of roads, vehicles and driving).
Travel Risk Management: Safeguard Your Employees During Work Travel
Location and route security risk management and planning. In addition to a location and route security risk assessment, Neptune P2P Groups’ travel risk management team can provide advice on how to mitigate any risk identified during the assessment and develop a pre, during and post-travel plan that mitigates any identified risk.
Travel Risk Management app - Monitoring and Alert Service. Should the traveller be unfamiliar with the location they are visiting or if the risk is significant, particularly from potential kidnap, a risk mitigation measure is our personnel monitoring and alert service. Neptune P2P Group can provide this service through its Travel Risk Management app on request. This service can be managed by Neptune P2P Group’s 24/7 operations team, or by the company itself.
SAFE training. In preparedness for working in unfamiliar and potentially unstable locations, and as a duty of care towards its employees, Neptune P2P Group deliver Security Awareness in Fragile Environments (SAFE) training courses. The training can be bespoke and developed for a company’s specific requirements, but would generally consist of travel preparation, travel risk management, basic lifesaving first aid, countering terrorism, kidnap situations, and crisis management. SAFE training is accredited and will generally last 2 days. It can be delivered in person, virtually online, or fully automated online so that the learner can take in their own time at their own pace.
HEAT training. Neptune also deliver Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) courses. For persons travelling to more semi-permissive or hostile locations, HEAT follows on from SAFE, providing the practical element of training. In addition to the SAFE syllabus, HEAT lasts for between 1 and 3 days dependent on the client requirements. Practical scenarios include vehicle maintenance, dealing with medical emergencies, action at legal and illegal checkpoints, and dealing with being taken hostage. Learners will also learn navigation basics and weapon handling. Neptune’s HEAT training course is accredited.
