MILITARY COUPS, RISING INSURGENCIES, AND NEW ALLIANCES IN THE WESTERN SAHEL.
Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali have announced their withdrawal from The Economic Community of West African States, a regional political and economic union, due to [unfounded] accusations that the group is a larger threat towards its members as it hinders national parliamentary. However, the likely reason relates to external influences and ECOWAS lack of support to military juntas with an intent to remain in power.
