SANA’A, July 30 (Saba)- Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammed Nasser Ahmed on Tuesday discussed with the British ambassador to Yemen ,Jane Marriott, issues of common interest between the two countries.
In the meeting, the minister hailed the British friends’ supportive positions for Yemen and its unity, security and stability, especially during the crisis witnessed by Yemen.
He noted to the possibility of taking advantage of the British expertise and experiences in the fields of training and rehabilitation and the cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, smuggling and sea piracy.
The minister pointed out that the situation in Yemen has improved more than before, noting that Yemen still in need for the continued efforts of the ambassadors of the ten countries sponsoring the Gulf initiative for the success of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) to reach positive results.
For her part, the British ambassador confirmed his country’s supportive position to Yemen and its unity, security and stability in order to overcome all challenges and difficulties, pointing to the strong historic relations between Yemen and the United Kingdom.
