Reports from trusted sources suggest that a merchant vessel has come under attack near the Eastern sector of the IRTC, Gulf of Aden. 
The report states that an MV was attacked at 0900 UTC in position 13:53N-051:11E, around 19.5nm off the IRTC. The incident was relayed by Convoy frigate radio message via Channel 44. The vessel may have been hijacked. UKMTO are aware of the report and are trying to contact naval vessel to verify. We are always cautious when it comes to possible attack reports, but believe this source to be reliable and will revert with any further information.
