Reports from Nigeria suggest that a large towing vessel, possibly the Malaysian-flagged Armada Tuah 22, may have been hijacked off the coast of Nigeria yesterday.The reports state that the owner has lost contact with the vessel, which may have been hijacked at around 1658 LT in position 03:42.2N-005:39E, around 50nm off Brass, Bayelsa state, Nigeria.
The MV has not responded to radio calls and the vessel’s AIS was turned off at around 1715 LT. Further details awaited.
