Reports state that a Liberian-flagged tanker has been attacked by pirates off the coast of Nigeria. According to a trusted source, the tanker was in position 02:35N-006:52E around 105nm off the Nigerian coast when it was attacked at 0020 LT by a group of pirates.

The vessel has been identified as the HANSA MARBURG, a container ship (IMO 9334818) and was reportedly attacked whilst transiting from Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to Senegal. An updated report states that the kidnapped personnel are two Ukrainians, a Russian and a Kiribatian.
