Reports over the weekend state that a Vanuatu-flagged reefer was attacked by pirates. 
According to reports, the incident occurred when the reefer was in position 03:49.50N-006:41.20E, approximately 33nm SW of Bonny River, Fairway Buoy at 1135 UTC on Saturday May 4th. The reefer was attacked by six to eight pirates in a speed boat who chased and opened fire on the vessel. The Master enforced anti-piracy measures and managed to move away. All crew safe but the ship received minor damage from gunfire.
