Reports suggest that the Utai 8 has been hijacked off the coast of Nigeria. Initial reports suggest that contact with the vessel was lost at around 0900 LT on April 25th.
The vessel was in position 03:50N-006:00E, some 30nm South of Brass, Nigeria. The boat was apparently en route to Port Harcourt with three crew on board. It is not known at this time whether the boat was hijacked with a view to ransoming the three crew or for use as a mothership.
