UGHELLI— CHAIRMAN,Delta State chapter of Phase II of the Amnesty Programme, ‘General’ Kingsley Muturu, yesterday, has expressed disappointment over threats by ex-militants of Urhobo extraction to attack oil installation in Urhobo waterways.
The ex-militants, under the aegis of Coalition of Urhobo Ex-Militants Agitators, CUEA, had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to release their share of amnesty programme or face attack on oil installations in the area.
Muturu advised CUEA to take the issue to the Federal Government, adding that the Chairman of the amnesty programme, Mr. Kingsley Muku, had nothing to do with the allocation of slots.
He advised the Federal Government to revisit the allocation of slots in the Phase III of the amnesty programme, adding that the total number of slots approved by the Federal Government were inadequate, hence the series of protests.
