The Fifth Fleet of the United States Navy is responsible for naval forces in the Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and coast offEast Africa as far south as Kenya. It shares a commander and headquarters with U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, Its headquarters are in Bahrain located in Manama since 1947.
The King of Bahrain decided to establish a higher college for comprehensive defense studies called (National Defense College) so as to reinforce the principles of national security for officers, diplomats and state officials.
