During February, human migration events continued off the Canary Islands, and in the Mediterranean Sea and the English Channel. Also, a Yemeni fishing vessel was hijacked in the Somali basin, there was a sharp increase of illegal boardings in the Singapore Straits, and two offshore oil platforms were boarded by criminals in the Gulf of Mexico.
