Nigerian Navy to Partner Private Investors on Security

The Nigerian Navy (NN) has reiterated its commitment to join forces with private investors to rid Nigerian waters of criminal elements.

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas who stated this when the Chairman, Guardian Global Resources Nigeria Limited, Admiral Sylvester Usoro Umosen (retired) led other top management staff of the firm to pay him a courtesy visit at Naval Headquarters, Abuja, stated that the security of Nigerian territorial waters remained one of the key functions of the NN.

The CNS noted that for Nigeria to be taken seriously in the comity of maritime nations, her waterways must be secure and safe for navigation.

Ibas who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, NN, Rear Admiral Johnson Omoniyi Olutoyin said the NN would do everything possible to execute its mandate of protecting Nigerian territorial waters.
