Gulf of Aden: Indian Navy Rescues Cargo Ship From Piracy Attack

An Indian warship, stealth frigate INS Trishul, thwarted a piracy attempt on a merchant vessel Jag Amar in a swift operation by deploying an armed helicopter and marine commandos in the Gulf of Aden on October 6.

Navy spokesperson Capt D K Sharma said an AK 47, one magazine with 27 rounds, grapnels, ropes, fuel drums and ladders were recovered during the operation.

Twelve pirates on a skiff made the piracy attempt on the Indian ship.
