Nigeria: Navy arrests 33 over oil theft, piracy

The Nigeria Navy yesterday paraded 33 people  arrested for alleged involvement in illegal oil bunkering, piracy and pipeline vandalism at different location in Rivers State.

The Commander, Nigeria Navy Ship, NSS Pathfinder, Commodore Duja Effedua, disclosed this during a news briefing at the command’s headquarters, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt yesterday. Also, Effedua disclosed that the Navy recently seized a see going vessel with 820 tons of product suspected to be crude oil, off the Gulf of Guinea, saying the vessel had fake papers and without a bill of laden.
