CLO, NUJ Express Concern Over Sea Piracy, Kidnapping In Bayelsa

The leaderships of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Bayelsa State yesterday expressed concern over the rising attacks by suspected sea pirates and kidnappers in the state, saying the situation has created shortage of sea foods and led to the killing of innocent people in the state.

The CLO and the NUJ, led by Chief Nengi James and Comrade Tariyon Akono respectively, called on the state governor, Hon Seriake Dickson to give priority attention to security and development of agriculture in rural communities.

They both spoke when Chief James called on Comrade Akono yesterday at the NUJ Secretariat in Yenagoa.
