This course focuses on mandatory security training requirements under the ISPS Code. It is tailored for employees or contractors of a port facility who are tasked with specific security duties. These duties are essential for maintaining minimum maritime security measures during the facility’s operations. The specific responsibilities of each individual will be outlined in the approved Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP), which is implemented and managed by the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).

For port facility security personnel assigned specific security duties operating under the approved Port Facility Security Plan being implemented within the port facility.
A Port Facility Person Designated Security Duties means a security guard assigned security duties within the port facility as a person responsible for certain assigned security duties under the implementation measures and procedures specified within the approved Port Facility Security Plan managed under the Port Facility Security Officer.
As well as anyone involved in risk management or in establishing maritime security measures for ship and port operations.
Ensure course participants are familiar with the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility Person Designated Security Duties (PDSD) security guard as directed by the Port Facility Security Officer implementing the Port Facility Security Plan in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. And assist in implementing such plan in the port facility.
This course ensures that personnel are trained in accordance with IMO guidelines, including the guidance provided in MSC.1/Circ.1341 (Guidelines on Security-Related Training and Familiarisation for Port Facility Personnel)
