Incident Alert – Suspicious Approach – Gulf of Aden

Incident details:

At 1042 UTC 25 FEB 20 a merchant vessel, believed to be the Panama flagged tanker WAWA SAN EMERALD, was reported to be approached within 0.5 nm by suspicious skiffs in position 12 13 N 044 06 E. Ladders were seen on-board the skiffs. Action still in progress. Vessel is safe. VESSELS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THIS POSITION AND TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IF IN VICINITY.
