February 10, the Walvis-7 cargo ship of the Nigerian company Sea Tracks Group was attacked by the pirates near the city of Port Harcourt (Nigeria). A senior mechanic, citizen of Ukraine, and the captain, citizen of Honduras, were taken away by the pirates in unknown direction.
The Foreign Ministry press service refers to the Ukrainian Embassy in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that the rest of the crew, 18 Nigerians, arrived in the port.
“The case is under special control of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria,” the report says.
