Italian Warships Visit Angola

A “Task Force of the Italian Navy”, consisting of three vessels , including one aircraft carrier, visit Angola from 15 to 19 February.

According to a press note from the Angolan Navy (MGA) , that reached ANGOP, Wednesday, the Italian naval fleet of ships will dock at the Commercial Port of Luanda , at nine hours and 30 minutes of the 15th February, where they will be presented greetings and welcome, before holding a press conference .

The visiting programme includes visits to Memorial Agostinho Neto and the National Museum of Military History, representatives of the Italian community in Angola as well as the promotion of a conference on “Gulf of Guinea”.

The Italian delegation is also set to greet the MGA commander, lecturing lessons on safety, security , control and management of fisheries , oil and maritime security platforms as well as a seminar on “Anti -piracy” .

The Italian Military Navy is a branch of the armed forces of Italy, created by Italian unification, and the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy under the name of ” Regia Marina”.

When the Republic was established in Italy in 1946, its name was finally changed to ” Military Navy”.
